The two honest options for you
Option A — Lateral-entry regular / part-time B.Tech (AICTE approved)
Lateral entry lets diploma holders skip Year 1 and join B.Tech in Year 2. AICTE-approved lateral-entry programmes are available at recognised engineering colleges in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu — including part-time and weekend options. Timeline: 3 years from Year 2. You get a regular B.Tech that Gulf engineer-visa authorities accept.
Option B — UGC-DEB approved online BBA / BCA / BSc-IT
If a regular B.Tech doesn’t fit your schedule or budget, many Gulf employers accept a UGC-DEB approved online UG in BBA, BCA, or BSc-IT for category upgrades — especially for supervisory and managerial roles. Timeline: 3 years from Year 1 (some universities offer lateral entry based on diploma). Fully online, UGC-DEB approved.
How Simple Degree helps you choose
- Checks your diploma (branch, institution, year) against the lateral-entry eligibility of AICTE-approved colleges
- For Gulf-bound clients, verifies the specific country’s labour office acceptance of BBA/BCA/BSc-IT for engineer-category upgrades
- Produces a written comparison of Option A vs Option B with cost, timeline, and fit for your case
- For Gulf clients: handles MEA + embassy + MOFA attestation end-to-end
- Parent/father-facing call option — this decision is rarely taken alone; we’re happy to walk through the options with your family
Realistic timeline
Option A (lateral-entry B.Tech): 3 years part-time from Year 2. Option B (UGC-DEB online UG): 3 years from Year 1. Gulf attestation adds 4–8 weeks, at ₹6,000–₹12,000.
How much it costs
Simple Degree service fee: ₹5,000 total (₹3,000 founding batch). Programme fees depend heavily on Option A vs B: lateral-entry B.Tech at AICTE colleges typically ₹60k–₹1.2L/year; online BBA/BCA ₹25k–₹75k/year.
